One month old puppy severely beaten leading to permanent blindness.

A1-month-old female puppy "Niu Niu" who lives in a temple in Hong Kong was recently beaten to the point where her skull was sunken, her brain was injured, her jaw was displaced and unable to bite, and she was blinded due to damage to her optic nerve. Niu Niu is currently hospitalized in the NPV Intensive Care Unit, facing long and painful medical treatment.

The mother of Niu Niu also lives at the temple, and a compassionate volunteer named Helena is urgently looking for temporary care, hoping to save the dog mother as soon as possible and prevent any possible future attacks.

Helena told HK Animal News that the dog mother living in a temple gave birth to two dogs but there was a man near the temple who often harassed the dogs. People familiar with the matter said that the man had already killed one dog and captured another one a few days ago.

Niu Niu was beaten violently, but later rescued by enthusiastic citizens. When one of the rescuers saw Niu Niu, she found that she could not walk normally and kept spinning in circles on the ground. She believed that Niu Niu had a brain injury and hurriedly took Niu Niu to the veterinary clinic for examination.

After examination, it was found that Niu Niu was treated extremely cruelly and inhumanely. Her skull was cracked and she was blinded due to brain injury. Because the cow kept spinning and occasionally twitched, the situation was very dangerous. Helena took her to NPV for follow-up examination and treatment. The results showed that the shape of her skull was concave, which may compress the nerve line, and the lower jaw was displaced, making it impossible to bite properly, and the optic nerve was damaged or pinched to the point of causing her to go blind.

Niu Niu is currently hospitalized in the intensive care unit of NPV. She needs to undergo more detailed examinations and some emergency surgeries. She is expected to undergo long, painful and expensive medical treatment.

In addition, the dog mother is still living in the temple and is likely to be at risk. Helena hopes to find someone who is willing to take care of the dog mother and the cow as soon as possible, so that the dog mother can be rescued in time.
